Yuli Yamano
First Appearance

Appearance and Personality[]

The English dub/original name of the stone used to bind the power of the Nether Realm. In both versions, this stone, a purple magatama rested in an ancient temple at the bottom of a lake. The reformed warlord Anubis used the power of the Ancient's staff to reach it.

Plot[]

The War with Talpa[]

The Jewel of Life is first brought up when Mia and Yuli were searching for ways to help the Ronin's in the battle against Talpa. After Mia is able to locate where the jewel may be hidden, she leads Yuli and Anubis to its location. Although they encountered a few Dynasty soldiers on the way, Anubis was able to handle the threats and locate the secret temple under a lake using the power of the Ancient's staff. Once inside, the group locates the jewel and Yuli takes possession of it. When he does, a voice speaks of how the jewel can do both great good and great harm depending on the person using it.

When Badamon's henchman, Gashura, appears and tries to steal the jewel, the armors of the Ancient's come to life and defend the trio. After Anubis defeats Gashura, he frees the souls that were in the armors to allow them to be at peace after having guarded the jewel for so long. After leaving the area, Yuli attempted to give the jewel to Anubis so that he could help the Ronin's, but Anubis decided that Yuli and Mia were better suited to guard the jewel and encourages them to take it to the Ronin's.

The group soon traveled to the Nether World where the jewel would demonstrate some of its powers by keeping them safe from Dynasty soldiers and the Warlords. However, the Jewel of Life was soon discovered to have no effect on Lady Kayura.

Powers[]

Though most of its powers are unknown and only a few have been seen in the show, the Jewel has the power to create a shield, blind enemies, destroy the spirits possessing soldier's armors, banish Netherworld priests, and for a short time, seal Talpa's power to keep him from defending himself against the final attacks of the Ronin Warriors.

One considered use of the gem was to prevent Ryo from dying in the final attack when he was sucked into Talpa's body in the last battle. The Jewel came to life at the same time the Ronin Warriors went to attack Talpa and saved Ryo from being killed by his friend's attacks.
